According to Dr. Combs, starting therapy is an important and often difficult decision. I tell my clients that my goal is to help them create the positive changes they would like to see in their lives. I am a patient and caring listener but am also very direct and candid. My clients tell me that my directness is one of the qualities they most appreciate about their therapy experience.

Dr. Combs works with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety disorders, disordered eating, women’s issues, bipolar disorder, and more general life stressors. She works with people individually as well as in couples and family formats. She sees clients varying in age from late adolescence to adulthood.

Dr. Combs has extensive experience working with individuals struggling with eating and body image concerns. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she completed an honor’s thesis looking at the relationship between trauma and disordered eating. Her doctoral dissertation examined culturally-sensitive models of therapy for clients with eating disorders. Dr. Combs worked for several years at the nationally recognized Center for Eating Disorders near Baltimore, MD after receiving her doctoral degree.
