That Charlotte Center for Balanced Living is affiliated with Stacey Vanderwel, RD of Vanderwellness.
Stacey Vanderwel is a registered dietitian and a certified pediatric specialist located in Charlotte, North Carolina. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University and completed her internship at Patton State Hospital in Southern California. She is board member of the Charlotte Dietetic Association and member of the American Dietetic Association.
Her love and passion for pediatrics evolved from her experiences at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas and The Children’s Specialty Center in Charlotte. In both of those venues she provided nutrition therapy for children and young adults with eating disorders (both inpatient and outpatient), cystic fibrosis, kidney disease, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, obesity, and failure to thrive. She also contributed to the publication of the Levine’s Children’s Hospital Pediatric Dosing Handbook nutrition chapter. In addition to her clinical experience, Stacey recently had the pleasure of co-teaching a Diabetic Chef’s Choice class at Johnson and Wales University.
Stacey firmly believes in a family approach with lifestyle changes to fight the battle against disordered eating. Because a family centered approach has proven to be most effective in working with disordered eating and obesity, she believes it is vital to address the family as a unit. She has helped many families overcome the difficult struggles of eating disorders and is very excited to continue that education and success at the Charlotte Center for Balanced Living. She is dedicated to teaching people about disordered eating and promoting the importance of improving their body image.
